98X adds Bubba the Love Sponge

The well-known Bubba the Love Sponge morning show has been added to 98X, WYBB Charleston. They are a brand new station on the network, and will carry the full four hours, from 6 to past 10am. They join Fort Myers, Dayton, Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa, and Orlando in having the show on FM.

Not only have they added Bubba in the morning, today they also went back to their old 98 Rock branding, which they had for most of the 90s up until 2004.

It's like old times.

I worked weekends on WFLZ (Power Pig) he was the biggest thing on radio back then. With my job (out of radio for about 10 years now) I travel between columbia, charleston, and much of north and central florida, love to hear him on!

Has their playlist changed any? Also, does BTLS play ANY music on his show? 98X errrrr 98 ROCK used to be live and local with the Tom Bolt show in the morning and live at night.

Same music as the X...pretty hard active rocker. Same jocks mostly. No clue why they would change just a name.

When 98.1 was 98 Rock (first time) wasn't it straight classic rock? I remember hearing an old ID from like 1988 saying "WCCG Fole-ey Beach is classic rock n' roll...98 Rock" Never knew it went by anything other than WYBB.
