99.1 SFV Hebrew pirate BUSTED

In their defense...

I've always felt Tarzana should have their own Radio Station. In fact every little Suburb should have their own signal. I know this sounds silly, and Pirates can NOT be tolerated, but bringing commercial Radio back to each individual community is a great idea, especially in todays homogenous Broadcasting environment.

Thanks for the heads up. It was a strong signal, thats for sure. Most of the LA pirates I have been hearing lately are using 91.9 and 104.7 -- I use 91.9 for XM Roady.

Well, at least they were doing something *different* than anyone else,
although one has to ask "What is the market for Hebrew pop music over
LA radio?" There might be one, there is a high concentration of
Jews in parts of the valley, although a lot of them seem to be from
Iran, not Israel....

I just regret not having the chance to tape the station before it
was taken down. (I moved away from the Valley in early October, and
now rarely go out there...)

Wouldnt a 99.1 pirate cut into KGGIs signal quite a bit. I know KGGI is a pretty strong signal in some parts of L.A,,,, But non existant in some other parts of town.

KGGI's signal is pretty much non-receivable in the San Fernando Valley, where this pirate was, and where it is receivable it is very weak and fuzzy.

Not that any of this matters to KGGI, which is not in the L.A. market (their occasional appearance in the L.A. book is primarily due to reception in OC and the eastern SGV).
