99.1 Tulsa

Perry Broadcasting is moving their translator from Lawton which K229CH on 93.7 to Tulsa which will change to 99.1 simulcasting KGTO-1050 as a part of the massive AM translator move-ins. How is this going to work with 99.1 close to 98.9-K255BE which carries Air 1. I'm pretty sure both stations can't broadcast that close and one of them is gonna have to move to a different frequency if they want to cover the whole Tulsa market.

Both signals are translators. There are no spacing requirements between the two of them. I'm not sure what happens if they interfere with each other as both are secondary services. However, I did see 98.9 filed an application with the FCC either today or yesterday.

Edit: 99.1 will be on West Edison near Sand Springs while 98.9 is almost in Broken Arrow. They won't cover much, if any, of the same area.

That was my concern if both frequencies will interfere with each other. If I were either owner I would apply for another frequency that I would have a decent coverage over the city with that translator.
