99.3 Louisville (DANCE MUSIC)

The other night after my Girl Dumped me I drove down to Louisville and found Dance Music on 99.3 covvering most the market with a weak signal. Any ideas what it might be? The station has no I.Ds and no DJs..... Me thinks its either coming off of someones Hard drive, or maybe a rebroadcast of Music Choice Dance Channel.

Very odd i put 99.3 on the dance authority and they are playing traditional christmas music not techno versions or different versions of the songs like collective soul blue christmas no no but the stuff lite 106.9 plays. I guess they are in the holiday spirit. The only station that has really played a good eclectic mix of christmas tuneage has been quicksie 98.3 and wfpk 91.9.I noticed kiss 98.9 played no christmas music!!!???

I finally remembered to tune in and heard it loud and clear on Broadway Saturday afternoon. I didn't keep it on to listen for an ID though.

I have been driving through the Fern Creek area in Louisville periodically over the last few months and I have been hearing instrumental music on 99.3 FM. It is a mixture of Easy Listening music and movie scores. The end of each song is clipped by a few seconds. I guess they want to prevent dead air. I haven't heard any ID or any other form of talk or voice. The signal can be heard on Bardstown Road from the Gene Snyder Freeway ramp to about Stony Brook Road. It sounds like another pirate. Has anyone else picked up this signal?

Yes I did, back in early December. When you merge onto the Gene Snyder from I-65, the Dance Station fades out into the station you are talking about. I dont think the Dance Station is actually a pirate though, I think it is the Edgewater Broadcasting station with a pending license for 250 watts. Their proposed TX location for the Edgewater broadcasting station is where the Dance Station can be heard the strongest.

If they don't have a license, they are a pirate, and Edgewater Broadcasting does not have a license. They don't even have a construction permit. All they have is an application pending at the FCC. With that you're not even allowed to pour concrete for your tower foundation.

The site for Edgewater is on a 60 foot tower behind Caritas Peace Center, 2020 Newburg Road, just north of Trevillian Way. Is that where you guys are hearing them?

That's basically what PROjammer said..that they are coming from a medical office building downtown. That wouldn't be Edgewater.

Well as long as they keep it silent I won't have to go find them. ;)
