99.7 KFRC-FM San Francisco

Doesn't Audacy still technically own the rights to the KFRC-AM calls?

I know KFRC-FM is alive and well (KCBS simulcast).

Do you mean the rights to the stations intellectual property????

Audacy ran a jockless version of KFRC's final iteration, the classic-hits format, on the HD-2 channel of KFRC-FM from October 27, 2008, the day the KCBS simulcast started, until February 2023. ( Thread: https://radiodiscussions.com/threads/audacy-discontinuing-hd2-to-save-money.760301/ ) So it's reasonable to assume that Audacy still has IP rights to the brand and, of course, its approval is required before anyone else tries to use the calls on other bands.

Edit: October 27, 2008, not 2028!!
