99.7 KVST Upgrade

New Wavo is asking to change from a Class A to a C3, with a power increase from 2.9 to 11kW. It's a one-step application that specifies a change to a directional pattern to address minor short-spacing to 99.5 in Bryan and 99.9 in Liberty.

Current coverage area: https://maps.google.com/?q=http://t...freq=99.7&contour=60&city=WILLIS&state=TX.kml

Proposed coverage: https://maps.google.com/?q=http://t...freq=99.7&contour=60&city=WILLIS&state=TX.kml

As you can see it's nothing major, but K-Star Country would pack a little more of a punch into northern Harris County.

It already packs a bit of a punch in north Houston. My house at Veterans Memorial and Antoine gets a consistent enough signal from KVST that it has a preset on the home receiver. Glad to hear they're bumping up the power. Quite a good little town country outlet.

The KVST signal in the Cy-Fair area is actually pretty decent; the upgrade will help quite a bit.

Probably chasing some higher money demographics in the north part of the market; although there are already a bunch of Country format options.
