99.7 sold to Greater Media and flipping formats????

Doesn't look like it. I think Radio Data Group (which runs both Greater Media's and Citadel's websites) mistakingly listed someone at Greater Media as the contact. RDG is likely holding onto the domain in the event that the recieve a client that uses the "Cool" branding, as it's a pretty good domain name. WSKO's website is likely on the same server that Cool FM used, explaining the redirection.

Looks like CoolFM.com used to be the homepage for a WGCO in Hilton Head, SC. Apparently, the station has been, um, Jacked.

Maybe so but there was still rumored to be a flip coming for that frequency under Citadel.

I believe any area station using COOL as part of its moniker would result in a restraining order from the desk of Cool 102. Cape Cod market or not the station is popular elsewhere with a strong signal. It happened when WSNE tried to use STAR & STAR 93.7 in Boston had a hissy fit.

WSNE could try it again now that 93.7 is "Mike".

I don't think that WSNE and the late WQSX, both being in the 93 spectrum of the band, helped the case of WSNE to stay Star.

On the other hand, a Cool at 101.9 and a Cool at 99.7 may be far enough apart for listeners not to notice the similar branding. Different case, but the new Free FM in San Diego can be heard in places that Free FM in Los Angeles can; same scenario with Free FMs in Baltimore and Washington. Of course, these stations are co-owned.
