99.7 WGNX, anyone remember?

I spent a year living in Vero Beach Florida back in 2004-2005, that being said I am looking to see if anyone has any recordings of WGNX around that time or before? Or anything at all really, anything on WGNX and their 80’s rock format is elusive at best, starting to think its non-existant. I can’t seem to find anything on Pirate 95.9 WSJZ either. I found some stuff from 96.5 WHTQ, 98.7 The Gator WKGR, and Oldies 103.7 WQOL but even those are limited and hard to come by. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thats a real shame. I feel like Radio everywhere was better back then. Im always searching for air checks of my old favorite stations. Wish my cassettes didnt get lost in moves when my parents split.

I remember GNX quite well when I lived in Kissimmee around ‘04-06. Seemed to come in well most nights through tropo out there. Listened to it a bit more when I’d drive to see the family in Ft. Lauderdale (I never took the FL turnpike…I’d take the Beeline to A1A). Liked Pirate 95.9 as well…the only rock station between Orlando and WPB

Glad to see people remember it!! I just home someone somewhere has some unscoped air checks of them. Pirate 959 was cool because they were the only ones i could get that played classic and modern rock. WKGR and WHTQ were my other go-to stations.

Thats awesome!! I listened to that station a lot, so i am sure i have heard your shows! I remember driving up I-95 in my stepdads truck blasting Obsession by Animotion while evacuating for hurricane Francis! That was 2 weeks after we moved down. I remember my uncle steve who already lived down in Vero Beach would always have it blasting out of his garage when we would visit.

If you do manage to find any recordings of it in your collection i would be very appreciative. Let me know if i can give you anything for your time.
