K shine has a serious problem on the West side of Houston, I get WACO instead, pretty listenable. Even on portables with decent FM sections.

K-Shine does pretty well to the east, though. It comes in very well in Lake Charles.

They are affiliates of the Longhorn IMG Radio Network, as well as the Texans Radio Network.

Wish they would become an affiliate of the Astros Radio Network.

Would be pretty easy to do, if I'm not mistaken the Astros are on the same satellite as the Longhorns (TSN). Come to think of it I think ALL the Texas stuff is on Galaxy 16. You could always just point a Big Ugly Dish that direction as well.

KSHN "All Nines" at FM 99.9 is a unique/fun oldies station. At 26 KW, and the broadcast tower being halfway toward Beaumont, it's not surprising that downtown/west Houston is deep fringe territory. Carrying 16 Texans games is a lot less disruptive to a station's format compared to carrying 162 Astros games.

A Lot of Texas sports has moved off of Galaxy 16 and abandoned TSN. Rockets moved several years ago. Astros left this year as well. Rangers have been gone for a while. I like the idea of TSN, but they missed out when they didn't get on AMC8 like everyone else. Having a separate dish for them only kinda sux. Meanwhile almost every thing in the radio world is on AMC8 (Or what ever they're calling it this week.

AMC-8 is being phased out and all stations will be moving to AMC-18 in 2017. Funny enough that G-16 and AMC-18 are neighbors. G-16 is at 99 degrees and AMC-18 is at 105 degrees. The dishes will be nearly pointed the same direction. If anything now would be the time for TSN to move but their quite dated receivers might be making things difficult.
