Syndication One announced today the Rickey Smiley Morning Show, has been added to Cox Urban WEDR-Miami and will launch July 7th

99JAMZ sucks big time! From my visits to Miami, WEDR has always sounded boring and tired. Way too many recurrents, slow R&B and annoying jock talk. Clear Channel would've been better off keeping 103.5 THE BEAT has Urban hip-hop because im sure they would've eventualy gave 99JAMZ a run. I must say the hip-hop pirate stations in Miami sounds way better than the commercial stations. Too bad X-102.3 from West Palm Beach doesn't serve Miami.

Now, there is NO local Urban morning show serving South Florida.

I must agree. 99 JAMZ is not what it used to be. Word is both HOT and JAMZ are taking it on the chin financially. The BEAT is doing even worst. Keep in mind, HOT is now syndicating mornings and afternoons (Baisden). How much longer before both stations HOT and JAMZ do away with live jocks altogether? And without Jocks, who needs PD's? Yes... consolidiation continues to KILL local radio and Urban radio seems to be getting the worst treatment of them all.

syndication is not about talent, it's about money. station have to cut back to save. expectmore and more syndication in the future.most stations are not meeting bugets this year and the future looks even grimmer. radio will never be what it used to be so be prepared for big changes.
