Yeah, ZAP the lightning god does not discriminate........I had an office get hit recently....weird how it took out the phone system and 2way radio as well as some built in NICs on a couple of PCs...put NIC cards in the PCI slots and all was well!
Have you ever seen a LP filter in a Continental 35KW transmitter be melted?? (a couple of years ago I saw gobs of molten aluminum at the bottom of the cabinet;ouch..luckily saw this before firing up on the replacement tube).....a replacement filter from CEC, new tube and viola!! back on the air ......what lightning does is sometimes amazing and weird.
According to the station's wikipedia article, they're back on the air.
Unrelated (to lightning): the station scheduled a candidate forum for the Dallas elections, inviting all the candidates for all the positions to come to the station one night and talk 'bout stuff. I know, because I was the campaign manager for one of the candidates. The day before the scheduled event, though, the station called -- the event was cancelled. I didn't ask why, but... Ooops.
