990...

Its so frustrating to see the merry go round formats of this station. One day I hear spanish music, the next day gospel music. Is this station going to ever be bought by someone.

It's kinda hard for me to care too much since the 7kw signal barely covers FW, but I'd love an all news station...bring back kews (before they ran out of money)...

In Montreal yesterday, the owner of 50kw CINF 640 and CINW 940 just shut them off and turned the licenses in to the CRTC. In the eastern part of Canada, AM is almost non-existent between AMs being shuttered or AM-to-FM migrations. Every month there are new FCC filings to surrender AM licenses.

I don't know stations like KFCD haven't just folded. My hunch is we'll just start seeing more and more AMs even in larger markets just get turned off.

Thanks...what a shame...I was just remembering that in the last few weeks, they seemed to quit trying and repeated the same 3 stories over and over and had barely any commercials other than smoky the bear PS ads.

Yup, to Salem as part of the Infinity-CBS merger.

KEWS went off the air a few weeks early, though. Young Country temporarily took over the 94.9 frequency after the 1996 tower collapse.
