99x.com

So...with all the talk about the broadcast and format changes, not a whole lot of talk about 99x.com. Does anyone see this as a good/bad move? I mean, KNAC came back by going online and WOXY pretty much did the same thing...offering WOXY vintage as an alternative to the alternative. So, what are the chances of 99x going that route? Can we expect to have to pay for higher quality audio feeds?

Truth be told, I listen to WOXY Vintage more than anything else. They have partnered with lala for music downloading. As they say, "97X - The Future of Rock and Roll!"

In time, I imagine 99X will do the same thing. Cumulus will need some revenue streaming in from 99x.com in order to keep up the salaries and the events. My guess is that the events (BDO, etc) will continue through 2008. Then 99x.com will run sans jocks and just play music from the golden age of the station (1992-1997).

Of course, I could be wrong. Thanks to A.J. Jam's history lesson from earlier in the decade we can all see how wrong I was. Remind me to drive to Vinings and take away his computer.
