99X limps to 15 yrs. old

Salsa Shark - I've been reading this forum for a few months now, and I've seen deadman accuse several posters of being Chris Williams and other dj's who either have worked at The Buzz/Project961, so I think he's insinuating that you might be Chris.

How do you feel about the station as it enters its 16th year?

I'm obviously a new poster here but have lived in Atlanta 9 years. I've heard Atlanta radio as a whole become progressively bad in my time here. I never was a big "alternative" fan but I used to listen to 99x a pretty good amount. I remember not liking the 'old' Morning X at first, but over time it grew on me. I know alot of people hated when Toucher was changed to mornings but I actually liked the morning show then too, but at times found it irritating enough to change the station.

When the 'new' Morning X started up, I tried to give it a chance but I never could find myself warming up to it. Even now, when I'm headed to work I'll change the station to 99x wanting to give it another chance, but I just don't find it entertaining at all. Just so some of you don't think I'm just bashing the X, I wasn't too thrilled to read (on this site) that Project961 was going to have a morning show. All I can say about that morning show is...eh. I wish they'd go back to just playing music in the mornings, but I digress.

I also used to enjoy Axel's show alot, but the last few times I've checked it out it just doesn't seem the same as it was before he did the incredibly horrible morning stint with Leslie.

As I said earlier, I never was a big fan of "alternative" but I did listen to the station at least half the time I was in my truck, usually on my daily commute to work and then home. Now I hardly ever listen to the station and quickly find myself changing to something else. At this point, I think 99x is a shell of its former self and needs to be changed.

deadman - Before you accuse me, I'm not Chris Williams or any other dj working at Clear Channel. I don't even work in radio, nor do I want to.

Sorry for the long post...just giving my opinion.

Once again, 99X is in denial that the station has slipped, fallen, stumbled during the 2000s. I enjoyed listening to them during the 1990s. But,nowadays I am like what the ??? There demise help drive me away from Atlanta Radio to Sirius Radio.

fwiw, if you have to defend someone's relevance it's probably a sign. Like Holyfield's camp justifying that their fighter isn't too old...

As opposed to "Hollyfield"... ;D
