Well, I don't want to reiterate what everyone can find on their own, being Rodney's blog and 99xWatch, and even the 99X website... but Axel is back to afternoons, Morning shows is a "History of 99x" next week, and then... and then... new morning show.

Granted, it has been confirmed that Leslie will probably still be part of the show.

Maybe, but why? Why bring back Sean Demery? Is there nobody better? Maybe another Don Miller Morning Show thing. That was so clever and funny. Leslie's never going to take herself off the air. Wasn’t it posted a while back that she’s only riding out her contract anyway?
 
I doubt she's riding her contract out, where else would she go, who else would have her? She'll re-sign in a heartbeat if they offer her a renewal. The reality is that Cumulus is riding her contract out. They got the bad end of that deal...paying a PD to drive 99x into the ones and contribute nothing to a major market morning show. I'm just guessing, but I gotta think they can't wait to shed her from the payrole.

The Sean thing doesn't make sense. He and Leslie already did a morning show and it was no good. That's why they moved Sean to afternoon drive. Maybe Cumulus is gonna bring Sean in so they have a PD to replace Leslie when her contract expires early in 07. Leslie rode Sean's coat-tails for years, why not let him actually PD the station. That the only sense I can make of it.
 
Cut Leslie some slack, okay? She managed 99X through over 10 years of some of the best radio in Atlanta history. Now, how many other pd's in Atlanta have come and gone over the same period? How about last 2 years?
 
Give Leslie a break? Haaaaaaaaaaaa :D :D :D I wish they would and send her back to Dittman land in Mobile. Leslie is a clueless PD and a average talent at best. Another Randy Lane reject. As for Sean Demory if they bring him back he'll just quit again he has a habit of pulling that "I've got family problems BS".
 
99x will probably bring in new unknown people to the morning show. It will be interesting.

mornings x at 99x was never the same again after Fred, Wally and Jimmy left.

If 99x would have kept JB, Axel in the morning would have worked.

oh well..

Do we need to repost the rant her husband sent to Rodney so it's fully understood what we're dealing with here?

I don't think she has added anything positive to the morning show or the station in the last 5 years. I mean no offense to her, but maybe a change of location or venue would do her some good.

Hold on. She finally gets a chance to stand on her own and look what she's done to 99X over the past 2 years. No other programmers coat-tails to ride and no one to blame and 99X has sunk steadily for over 2 years straight under her programming. For this performance she makes $400-$500k per year and you want to cut her slack!? Look at how many people have lost their jobs at 99x because of the decline of 99x. On top of that she contributes nothing to the morning show. In fact, I think she hurts the show. She comes from the old, old school of thinking the quality of her voice is more important that the content coming out of her mouth. She has no value and yet she still costs Cumulus half a million. I don't think she deserves to be cut any more slack.
 
Haaa...haaaaa i doubt Framm is making 500K. Maybe 200 AT MOST.
 
Jimmy had joked in the past that he wasn't making Leslie money and we know Jimmy was in the $300's

Ok sorry here’s a more detailed response. Radio blames Ipods for some of their lost listeners. 99x would be one of those stations whose listeners are more likely to buy an Ipod and listen to it rather than radio. Car dealers are even advertising Ipod jacks on their radios.

You have Leslie Fram, the Program Director for 99x, doing endorsements for Ipod Nanos.
 
We also took ad money from Satellite radio. But I digress. Younger skewing stations are losing to ipods, but alternative music hasn't exactly helped either. This is why talent is so important. If 99X were able to put together another great morning show, or put a cool show on in afternoons, this board would be inconsequential. Imagine 96 Rock without The Reg. Guys?
 
Actually, when Susquehanna still owned X/Q, they specifically did not air spots from XM or Sirius (although they did air ads from, say, Best Buy, in which satellite equipment was mentioned/shilled).

I cannot speak for their policy about airing such spots since the sale.
