99X - Ouch

What should we be calling the station, 99.7 Jack FM or Movin' 99.7?

They can't keep this sharade up much longer. If they don't flip in the next couple of weeks, I suspect they will be gone shortly after the New Year.

Movin would probably hurt sister station Q100. But Jack may bring the River level down. So..welcome Atlanta to Jack 99.7. Enjoy.

;)

C'mon this is just a blip. They're in for the long haul. And with that said...too bad Val Garris is gonna lose his job for betting on this old, haggard nag

It was surprising to see them that low (even Dave hasn't gotten quite that low before- that being said it was surprising to see Dave as high as they were).

I think things will work themselves out. I'm really starting to like 99X again for the most part. I was a big fan back in the 90s and then there were some years in recent times where I did not listen at all. Currently, I think it's a really good mix of "everything alternative".

I don't think that MOVIN" would hurt Q100 at all. MOVIN' targets an older audience than Q100, there would be very little overlap.

I doubt they are changing formats. They just started a new morning show. You can be sure they are hitching their cart to that one for awhile. This number was driven down by their lack of a morning show.

How is this a blip? They've had 8 down books in a row and this is the forth time in the past 5 books that they've broken their own record for worst rating in station history. Why fire Val, Fram set all this in motion....she'd be out of the building monday if I were Cumulus.

F10, my friend, I'm dont write words so goodly as to convey my sarcasm about he mighty x's tumble in the ratings. And isnt Val the guy who's allowing this to happen? Switch formats or fire him

Maybe it's my reedin and not your ritin'...my bad. Val Garris is the Cumulus head of programming over all rock stations in the country. Rob Roberts and Leslie Fram are responsible specifically for 99x.

Right now, they're likely blaming the ratings decline on the morning show turmoil. The new morning show should buy 'em all a couple more books. If the numbers still look like this after the Winter book, I'd predict wholesale changes.

Regarding Leslie, I won't comment on her programming skills, but will say she's an incredible politician/PR person and that skill is often more important than programming if you want to make it in radio programming.

If the morning show shows some growth in the fall book (and how can it not), I predict they'll stick it out through the spring book, given Cumulus' commitment to the station (and the fact that John Dickey is said to "love" 99X). If things don't improve dramatically by the spring book, Cumulus is going to have to face reality.

You can't fire Leslie. She's the media "Darling" that can do no wrong in the eyes of the PC crowd. Besides too many ***** male gm's out there that are afraid to fire women especially the leslie type. If you catch my drift ;). Get a backbone you *******!!

Leslie would make a GREAT politician alright. She would fit right in with the rest of the buffoons in Washington. She's got that Bill Clinton phony personality. I wonder if she learned it from the front desk at WABB? :D

I actually gasped a little when I saw those ratings. How embarrassing!

They'd better pull it together. I know they're banking on this new morning show, but if it tanks...who knows. I can't imagine 99X being off the air in Atlanta, but that's just pitiful.
