99x seeks morning host

99X is searching for a morning show leader who can anchor a talented group of individuals.

Format experience is not as important as morning show experience.

3 years minimum of working on no sleep.

Atlanta boasts one of the longest average commute times in the country. Translation…captive audience.

Send your T&R plus stuff that shows you get it to:

Rob Roberts
99X Operations Manager
780 Johnson Ferry Rd.
5th Floor
Atlanta GA 30342
[email protected]

Cumulus is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Shoe Size optional.

There is no shortage of available radio talent these days. Who will get the job? Somebody local? Some hack from up north?

Predictions?

In this market, more like "hostage listeners".

Outside of Tim Andrews, who exactly are the "talented individuals" to be lead??

Talk about false advertising!

I'm kind of surprised because this suggests 99X is planning to stay in the format. I'd thought the station would change course after the fall book. That's a major, major signal and can't be billing anywhere near its potential.

Producer Mark is such a quality talented individual that some other market should snap him up.

I disagree. If X were thinking about flipping, they certainly wouldn't indicate it based on a job posting. It did say format experience was negligible, so that doesn't necessarily mean they're staying put.

That being said, I personally don't believe a format flip is in the works. But, that's solely my opinion. What they should do is ditch Fram and work with what they have. Adding too many personalities doesn't always pan out (ie Don Miller Morning Show).

He's fine in Atlanta. Professional, quick and very personable. Shows need a guy who is likable -- to the listeners and clients. That's Mark.

My suggestion last time around was Sean Demery... I guess it still is.

Since I grew up listening to him, I suppose I could throw my name in the hat - I have 3 years of work experience, none of which is in radio, though, people do tell me I have a radio voice....

Funny, that's what I would've guessed about Demery's background when he started in the ATL. He pioneered the "stumble over words, pretend like you don't care, then make a lame joke" approach to breaks. Genius. We'll certainly miss him!

Wow, who in their right mind would take that job? Cumulus has the radio sense of a tree stump.
Have you heard that show? That jenners guy is so full of himself I'm surprise that he doesn't explode from the internal pressure. I can't believe that sean left 99X again. He wasn't great on that show in the same way you can't play the capable lead in Hamlet at the school for retards and expect anyone to notice your performance as standout when the retards can't remember their lines. I don't care what he said on the air about leaving. He must have been miserable.
What does it matter anyway. 99X has been so lost for so long that you can't expect that ensemble to ever make a mark while cumulus owns it.

Take off the ear muffs. Sean added nothing to that show. His ambivalent attitudemade the listeners feel the same way. Basically who cares was the prevailing attitude.

I don't blame demery for leaving. Have you heard the other talking heads he had to converse with?
I think he was stupid for coming back. I thought he was smarter than that.
Maybe the next person they hire can shut everybody else up on that show.
