Seems Cummulus still wants him here in Atlanta. But if he's smart, and gets the job he should head to San Fran, and make the jump to talk.

Just my two cents worth.
______________

Confirmation of Toucher's departure

As if all the hints weren't enough... I caught this on the comments to Jimmy's MySpace blog:

"Hey JB - I was thinking about visiting San Francisco this summer to check out the Castro and grab some lunch with Sean Demery. I like change. Changes bring new challenges and makes life less mundane. As we discussed before, I think this is a good time to get out before Cumulus takes over. I wish you the best and I may come down for the Kegs and Eggs on Friday to say good-bye to Fred. -Joey"

This is the closest thing to an outright confirmation I've seen. I don't know who "Joey" is, but he apparently heard it from the source, and has been a 99X "insider" long enough to know Sean Demery.

This morning they were talking about the kegs and eggs party and Wally drinking to celebrate something. Jimmy said there will be plenty of good stories to talk abot on Monday. Toucher quietly said not from me I won't even be here. I won't even be in Atlanta on Monday. Doubtful it is yet another vacation.

Yeah, they want Jimmy to the tune of half his salary. And Toucher's last day is Friday. And he's not going to the desert.

What was the position? Traffic guy? Maybe weekend fill in host?

Strange from all his infulences you would think he would at least have one idea during the time he has been on the air here. I also find it hard to believe that the new owners would want him for anything if they want to get ratings.
______________
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day

I know this Joey guy... if anyone in Atlanta knows about Fred's and Jimmy's future it would be him.

Good luck to Jimmy, he was the best of that lot.

Toucher was/is about as compelling as the Bill Campbell trial. NYC!?! Philly!?!PUH-lease. He is better suited for Harrisburg or Troy-Schenectady. Folks this is why XM is kicking the butts of commercial radio. There is choice and it really is better.

O+A Party Rock. XM 202. Spread the virus.

Using Jimmy to fill that empty void where the hate for Toucher used to be?
