Lugnut (afternoons) exits Q107.5 after being with the station since it made the switch to Q.

Lugnut was the only jock with any numbers on Q. I hope that Karson & Kennedy's resumes are fresh, too...

I actually enjoy listening to Karson & Kennedy ( and country cory too )
They are the only morning show (local) i listen to at all.....

Let's see...George Flinn is bored, he's got Chris in his ear and the revenue stinks. So what's new at the old building on Mt. Moriah? Maybee he is going to pull out that dead horse format, The Pig again. At least it had better numbers right?

So what could Flinn possibly do with 107.5? He could go country, right? Or maybe give another format not being done on FM in Memphis a try. Think about it. Oh well, at least it's interesting to watch.

;D

well, they've hired 2 top-40 air talents from the florida panhandle - one from Fly 92 in pensacola (or is it FWB?), and one from island 106 in panama city. middays are left open for now, maybe joe mack will be back? if ct is in the house, i would put my money on that.

carson & kennedy have another year or so on their contract left, i don't think that the format is going anywheere on the Q for now.

my $0.03 for today.

I'm way past the target demo of Q, but I did listen to Lugnut some, just because he was good on the air. Hope he moved up.

According to All Access, he moved out... of radio to the travel industry. Go figure.

A friend of mine is interviewing for the midday slot. Is Flinn a good place to work? Anybody know why the PD blew out the whole airstaff?

The common belief would be they were blown out because a change is a comin'. Then again, who knows. As for working for Flinn, I have never worked for him so I cannot speak in absolute truth as to how it is over there. I can tell you what I have been told if you are interested in rumors! ;D

Oh please.....do tell! We all love rumors. I have been known to start some at times just to see how they morph into totally something else.

Makes you wonder sometimes if some don't surf the rumors to find new ideas!

The only person blown out was Danni (mid-days). Lugnut and Dylan left on their own. Lugnut's leaving radio. Dylan starts as nights/md at 106.9 K HITS in Tulsa, OK September 4th according to ALL ACCESS. Joe Mack is currently filling the mid-day slot. Also according to ALL ACCESS they have already hired two small market jocks from Florida to fill afternoons and nights. Joe Macks probobly been doing the music since Chris arrived, so I don't suspect much change there. Dylan was their imaging director though, so other than the jocks...that will probobly be the only thing that might start to sound different. Q107.5's been sounding great lately. Karson and Kennedy have been doing strong localized bits in the morning...which is crucial for a local morning show in a market saturated with syndicated shows. It'll be interesting to hear the transitions in the other day-parts though. I wish them luck! It's great to see underdogs win.

Good to hear things are stable inside a Flinn property.

I do wonder what you mean by a market saturated with syndicated programming. I assume you mean in the mornings. Let's see, there's Kraddick and Rover, neither of which are even players on the scene. K97 has Mike Evans; D/Z on 98.1; Ron, Steve and Karen on FM 100; the Crew on 103; Soul Patrol on 103.5; Mike and Mandy on WRVR; Young/Elder on Kix; Karson on 107.5. Oh, I forgot Tom Joyner is syndicated on 101.1. I would say that is hardly saturated.

I am curious about this: how do Rover's numbers here compare to Stern? He got blown out in Chicago because he dropped to below 1.0 immediately and stayed there, so WCKG dumped him for Opie & Anthony. I am wondering if he is doing any better in Memphis...

A friend of mine made a joke the other day about Flinn and I've seen it here before... I don't necessarily believe it, but it is worth repeating...

Anyone who knows anything abut Flinn als knows they have a non commercial arm of their company, Broadcasting For The Challenged. My friend say, the way Flinn Broadcastin does things.. they shud rename the commercial side "Broadcasting For The Challenged"

Hopefully Joe will loosen up a bit.. Dani was well connected the audience and was fun to listen to. So far what I have heard is back-selling songs and reading liners... Have a little fun Joe :)... I agree about Karson & Kennedy even though I don't get to listen as much as I used to since I am working nights
