A B*tch about B101's Memorial Day 500 countdown

I am very surprised Bill George is going along with the final product of this countdown.Just some one counting down "number 123,song,number 122,song,number 121 song".Where counting down the top 500 classic songs of all time, number 120,song.etc.....
No mentioning of song title or artists not even going into a break.number 119. etc...no factoids about the music in the countdown.
What is the player on random with Lisa's voice dropped in because she did'nt even know what order the songs were playing.
NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is outright AWFUL RADIO and an embarrassment to anyone whom ever worked there. For the Product to become such trash as in this countdown.

If this is playing randomly I will laugh my ass off if the Number one song is something horrible.
DISGUSTING!

At 6;35.Well after the number one song played.

Lisa liner plays. "The memorial day day 500 continues." Oh, Really!Someone didn't time it well.Too late Hun ,You sound very stupid at this point..

"The Memorial Day day 500 continues."  Yeah, that does sound stupid.  It would not sound any better if she said "The Memorial Day night 500 continues."  Ok, I was being sarcastic.  I rarely listen to B101.  103.3 WODS is always my first choice for music.

The countdown was over is my point. No I did not listen all night. It was just a a case I wanted to point out of not putting any pride in programming a station. The voice tracking from I-Heart Radio is so so BLAH...

All Kenny-bashing aside, his point is well-taken.
Uninspired radio is obvious...and just plain sounds bad.

And while no modern, major radio company is guilt-less on this topic..ClearChannel leads the field by five lengths on "not being worth the effort of listening." I remember radio in the 70s that was full of enthusiasm and holiday weekend countdowns which were always excitingly presented. Heck..even as recently as the 90s, I remember B101 doing fun weekend countdowns every Memorial & Labor Day weekend...as well as on New Year's Eve...that still sounded engaging.

Hey CC--here's to hoping (for the good of radio) that someday...just ONCE...you think of the listener first, instead of the stockholder.

The B101 listeners must also be CC stockholders.

A 25-54 - May Week 1+2

Weekends up 7.7 to 12.9

I would not be surprised. Who else could stand that bland, boring, and canned I Heart Radio crap, unless people are just satisfied with what B101 has and don't want to look for another station. It's great 103.3 WODS can be heard in most of Rhode Island. Where WODS can't be heard, there is 98.7 The Sound, WNLC in New London, CT which is classic hits but no I Heart Radio and better variety than B101.

Has B101 ended Tom Kent at night?

Tom Kent seems to be gone. Now it's Marty Thompson who I believe is the PD in charge of CC Premium Choice oldies. Sadly, there's no need for B101 to incur the expense to go local at least during the day. Numbers are good and they eased listeners into this gradually. I'm not justifying what the station has become, but those calling the programming shots are not concerned with the kind of exciting creative radio that radio-active mentioned. It's the ones not calling the shots that have that spark and fire. When I hear B101 on in a store I want to say to the manager "do you realize this jock is not local?". Then it dawns on me how idiotic he would think I was to even care and that, my friends, is why things aren't going to be like they used to be ever again.

How long has he been gone?
