A big thank you to WHJJ's Helen Glover

Helen had Gov. Carcieri on this morning and spent a good deal of time speaking with him about his trip to Iraq/Afghanistan to visit RI's National Guard troops in harms way. Was such a breath of fresh air to hear about RIer's who actually live and work in harms way every single day and how they're doing.
To hear some in the R I media last weeks snowstorm was the dangerous mission.  ::)
For those who care about Rhode Islanders in REAL harms way http://a1135.g.akamai.net/f/1135/18...&PCAST_CAT=Talk&PCAST_TITLE=Helen_Glover_Show

It also shouldn't be lost on anyone that Dan Yorke had the same interview on Monday and didn't ask a single question or make a single inquiry about our local men and women serving overseas and how they're doing.
Didn' fit into the movie playing in Dan's mind.
But thank god he's all about the local community. ::)

The main mantra from The Don had little to do with the troops but more commentary on how 'the surge' was doing; this suggests that the Governor went there on this mission as a minister of propaganda.
We all know that Helen is sipping the G.W. kool-aid concerning Iraq too. All due respect to her, she is from a military family and we appreciate the service of her son in the Marine Corp in Iraq.
However, Radio Head, I dont need the Governor visiting foreign countries during winter with no back-up emergency plans here at home. Surely its nothing like being in a hum-vee in Faloojah but I was stuck in my car for four hours on 95 for no apparent reason other than a lack of a snow emergency plan.
Lets leave those missions to the armed services and U.S. Senators, etc.. The Governor has little credibility sending phone communiques hyping the surge instead of telling us how the RI troops are doing.
You have indeed been bamboozled. Put down the Kool-aid.
