A blast from the past: Sports Huddle article from 1972

Never knew they were syndicated. Also didn't know Jim was that much older than Eddie and Mark.

The faux Lappens ad is one of the most politically incorrect things I've heard, but it also was pretty funny when I heard it (20 years ago now).

Does anyone remember Eddie's short-lived Saturday night show on WABC that was simulcast on WHDH?

vaguely. I keep saying this but I have an hour of their show from the summer of 1973 that I definitely need to rip to MP3. Some day

some of the bits on there were so funny. Yawkey Jeans... they came in tight, extra tight and "oh my heavens did you see that?" sizes. Doak-A-Cola. My cousin Richard, who was a NY Giants fan used to call them when he was in grade school. His on-air handle was "The 11 Year Old Genius." Roxbury Shrinkafella ski reports. Calling lingerie shops to try to get Bruno Sammartino a negligee.

And don't forget those top sports tunes by Bruce and the Benchwarmers!

"There are some I hope
will go up in smoke.
They're the jerks who
talk sports on TV!"
