A Breeze blowing in to Greenville?

With the huge popularity of launching the soft AC format in Miami, Tampa, Philadelphia, Sacramento, Detroit, etc....could it come to Greenville after Christmas? Check this out...

Entercom has registered the domains and placed the Magic 98.9 logo as the background....

Entercom registered the domain. If you look at the background image and the message, they are obviously playing with iHeart who could put the branding and format on 102.5 after the holidays and are blocking all associated domains.

Seems like a good idea. The format leans older, which could pick up on EARTH’s success, while not competing head on, taking some older listeners from WSPA-FM (disenfranchised by their more modern lean over the past few years) and a chance to truly re-invent the station and retire the tarnished MY branding. Hot AC hasn’t worked for them. If they’re going to stick with AC, this is a good idea. Musically it would be similar to the My102.5 of the early 2000s. The format is heavy on 70s, 80s, and 90s AC hits that AC started limiting in the last decade.

My 102.5 was a powerhouse back in the day, but it’s time to give that branding up.
