I'm not sure how it happened, but when I went to lunch last Friday, my radio was on 1540. I probably hit the scan or seek button without knowing it and it stopped there. I haven't listened to the station for several years; the last time being when it was a sports station known as "The Ticket". Even then I didn't listen very much. The most memorable thing for me about the station was the fact that they took the legendary heritage call letters of KMPC after Disney/ESPN ditched them some years earlier when they made 710 KTZN, and of course later KSPN.
Anyway, the Ticket folded several years ago, and I believe the station has been (brokered?) Korean/Asian ever since - ergo no reason for me, and English-only speaking American, to tune in. But on Friday, with my radio inadvertently tuned to the station, I heard Nazareth's "Love Hurts" played in its entirety, and then a Korean-speaking female announcer back announce the song afterwards before going into a stop set. Curiosity got to me and I had to listen through the stopset to hear what would play on the other side. Of course they did go back to playing music in an Asian language that I assume to be Korean and I went back to listening to KCSN (or at least trying to). So, if there is anyone around who knows, do they play English language songs (particularly old classic rock songs that must be obscure to their audience) regularly on the station intermixed with other Asian music, or was this just some sort of anomaly that I just happen to stumble upon?
