A Burger Or A Share Of Mc12?

While dining at the Buckeye golden arches the other day, Nurse Jeff and I made a startling discovery: a Big Mac is more expensive than a share of Gannett, owners of Mc12 and the McRepublic! And with the way the stock market is going, we won't be surpised to see a share of GCI on the Dollar Value Menu real soon.

Anything else with that order?
For the price of a small drink (minus the tax) you can also get a share of ABC15 (Scripps) for 79 cents a share!

Actually there are two stocks: SSP for EW Scripps (this includes ABC 15 and their newspapers). It's now a penny stock. The other is SNI for Scripps Interactive, which includes their many cable and internet offerings. It trades for around $19 a share. The Nurse and I had a couple of cheeseburgers, fries and Cokes. We gave the McHost a $20 bill and he gave us change in shares of Gannett, Scripps and The New York Times. We told him to keep the change!

And if you look where the fountain drinks and the ketchup is, you'll find a dispenser filled with Citadel stock -- you'll need them to wipe your lips after you finished eating.

While we're at it, Nurse Jeff has added the stock of BELO to the McValue Meal Menu: closed Wednesday at 71 cents. YIKES!

The only way that can be accomplished in such short order is if they close all Gannett papers for a week.

Will anyone miss the Repulsive for a week? Will anyone even notice? ;)

News sources made from dead trees are rapidly going the way of the Edsel, NY Yankee World Series titles, and KTVK. ;D
