A Capitol 4th Returns

Last year's annual PBS July 4th special A Capitol 4th had some controversy when they aired previously recorded fireworks, due to overcast skies. PBS took some criticism because it didn't clearly announce that the fireworks were canned. Viewers commented that the clouds seem to miraculously part in time for the fireworks display, and PBS found itself explaining the situation.

Tonight the fireworks were live, and the weather was great. However, one performance was recorded. Kellie Pickler became ill prior to the broadcast, so they aired her performance from Monday's dress rehearsal. This time, they ran an announcement below the entire performance that it had been taped the night before, plus there was a full explanation on their Twitter page.
