A Change on WABB

I have noticed that WABB added a quick change. And that was adding "97 POINT 5 WABB" not "97-5 WABB". Do you know why? What else that you may know of these recent changes. Thanks!

Sure it wasn't just a new jock or one of their listener liners? We go by "97-9" but a lot of people add the "point" to ours as well. Easy mistake to make....see if it happens some more over the next few days.

It's a sign of things to come! WABB is slowly transitioning to 97-5 the Point - today's soft favorites.

You have Z96 (signal reaches pensacola) 92BLX and 100.7 don't forget XM and Sirius.
Could this mean "light mix" 99.9 could be in for a format change as well?

I have it on now.. some dance sh&t is currently playing.

There's also 92.1 - Destin but doubtful it's 25KW signal can reach Pensacola.

The rumor from inside the building is they're bringing in Ken Carson, who brought Birmingham's 106-9 the Point it's best ratings with an 80s pop format.

THEY DONT AT ALL SOUND LIKE THEY WILL OR EVER CHANGE FORMATS!

If they change, that's three count em three light rock stations.

we need a new format.

There will be no human DJs on 97-5 the Point, only tigers trained to growl song titles in morse code. Also, the promotions staff will be replaced by a single robotic sparrow and the current sales staff will get the axe and be replaced with skilled archers that speak the proper King's English. Expect the first Tiger Jocks (or "TJs") to make their debut before the fall book.

Also, in reference to 99.9, they too are due for a format change. In fact so is 92 Zew, 95KSJ, TK101, The Rocket, WNSP, 93BLX and WDLT. This is what the new Mobile radio landscape will look like:

92.1 - Glen 92 (Big Band)
92.9 - 93 Noel (Christmas music year round)
94.9 - 94-9 the Lube (Tracks from your favorite 70s porn films)
96.1 - 96 Jock (Classice Sports Talk)
97.5 - 97-5 the Point (Soft AC)
98.3 - Peace 98.3 (All hippie music all day)
99.9 - Hey Zeus 100 (Stories from the Bible and Greek mythology all told in Spanish)
101.5 - Crash 101 (The Buddy Holly/Ritchie Valens/Big Bopper station)
105.5 - Glen/the Point (A simultaneous simulcast. It will revolutionize radio!)

I think the radio world will have it's eyes on Mobile for a long time.

Those list of stations will suck. I'm sorry, but that wont happen.

If the sales guys take over it will become "all remotes all the time!"

Remotes may be impossible. The robot sparrow can only carry so much in terms of prizes and banners, and it is still unknown how the TJs will respond to human interaction. Also, let's be honest, sales associates speaking the proper King's English could be intimidating for some Southern business owners.

exactly but they play a lot of run-ons and and songs over and over.

Do you might know what happened to their flashback songs on Thursdays and their weekday noon hours? Anyone notice it? What does this tell you?

Rob, I wish that were true, but I got some news today that leads me to believe major changes truly are in store for WABB - A Lisa & Hound Dog reunion is in the works featuring Lisa Bonet and an actual hound dog. They're going to have some interesting guests including Lenny Kravitz, Bill Cosby and the CEO of the ALPO Corporation. I am excited for some hard hitting interviews.

What does that mean...a talk station in store.??? I would not believe it.

There is something up at WABB, they now have AT40 Sunday Morning and the following evening. What's with that. They had "Sunday Slow Motion". I don't know whats happening, At least they still have OHP! I love that show!
