I've been listening to the HD-2 "Indie and Underground" station of Portland, Oregon's CHR/Pop Z-100, and I must admit I'm mighty impressed with the music I've been hearing on it. Thus far I've heard artists as diverse as Badly Drawn Boy, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, My Bloody Valentine, Sufjan Stevens and even some Hip Hop. I definitely recommend checking this station out through their online stream!

If you get the chance, try out their H2 "Classic Alternative" out of Albuquerque too. Their defintion of what constitutes "Alternative" is pretty wide (I heard them play the Stooges and the Cars back to back), and the station sounds great for it!

Are these streams playlisted locally or running the same playlist? Curious if they're doing any local music or there's any regional difference in the streams.

Not sure where they're programmed out of (seems like they're programmed locally) but each one is unique. The Indianapolis one, called "DoubleX Alternative Alternative", plays classic and new rock and will transition from Bright Eyes to Pet Shop Boys for instance. http://www.clearchannelmusic.com/hdradio

Houston is done locally.
