A Complaint about 740 WNYH

I was relaxing on my recliner listening to 740 WNYH on my Walkman. I was enjoying the 70's era song "Oh Oh it's Magic" when on top of the song comes that pre-recorded announcer. Now I don't mind the pre-recorded announcer, I do mind when it comes on over the top of the song.

"WNYH - New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. More Music Fewer Commercials. AM 740 WNYH - The Biggest Variety. The Long Island Sound. AM 740 WNYH."

There is just so many things wrong with that positioning statement, I'm not even gonna list them all. :p

MarcB,
Have heard that exact same "over dub" over the exact same song numerous times, and this morning at that exact same time as you as well. Yes...it is much a misnomer...and the station's presentation stinks...but it's the only place to hear all of those songs no other station will touch anymore. Old Rolling Stones song rings in my head...it's true! Never again may we ever really get all of what we want in any one radio station ever again. Thanks Cheap Channel, CBS, Citadel, Entercom, Cox and so on!!!

Sounds like WNYH is just run off an automation system that never gets updated or the music shuffled.Good intent, plus poor execution and horrid audio processing=one helluva waste of 20 kW.I'd almost rather Dr. Yoon let Bob Bittner program it the same way he does WJIB. And that slam-it-through-the-wall audio processing has gotta go.

just call me Ralph said:
Its a Very bad atempt to be RADIO T.E.D.....

Although I'm sure TED shuffles the music better and more randomly.

Maybe the dear doctor should invest in something like Raduga for his automation.
