I wanted to correct myself, as I found out the information I shared in a post below was wrong.
Apparently, the tower you all speak of that's had it's light out is in fact more then 200 feet. It's their main facility. With the tower being 200+ feet, that IS over-efficent for use on 1490 and why the station only runs 470 Watts.

Now, the CP for 1,000Watts on file with the FCC for WACM is their Auxiliary Facility at their studio site on Sylvan Street. THAT tower is about the right height so THAT's why it's 1,000 Watts. Wait, it's a flagpole not a tower. Apparently, it was once their main tower. I can see why they'd like to license it as an auxiliary.
