A Crummey Summer

The thought of listening to JD Windbag all summer on KFWhyEye has got Nurse Jeff and me reconsidering the offer KB Homes made on the Buckeye Media Hut ground! The fez has been flying at half staff since Evil Joe Crummey was told to stay in el Lay and don't bother phonin' in the show. As the Nurse and I've said before, his removal has the fingerprints of The Nearly Bald One all over it. Afterall the Evil One did a much better show than TNBO, who serves as the armchair PD at KFWhyEye. When immigration is no longer a big issue, we wonder what the Windbag will talk about? Crummey was well versed on all topics and brought entertainment instead of bombast to PMD. That haunting Billy Preston tune runs through our minds:

...Here's the talk show host that you really like, and I aint no dummy. I feel so happy when I'm at the mike, cause I'm Joe Crummey....

:-\ I know what you mean. I don't know about everyone else, but I can't listen to JD even for half an hour without turning it off. In my opinion, it seems other than Barry Young, KFYI's only good for late night. Man, they made a huge mistake. He did an awesome job with the 4 - 7pm (I think it was?) times after Liddy & Hill left, and he didn't need another to host a show with him to keep a great show!

A Crummey summer indeed. Maybe he can get a job with 640 KFI again... someday.

I've resorted to listening to 910 on the way home from work nowadays.

It sucks.

JD is terrible and KFYI is almost completely unlistenable. Even Coast to Coast, while kooky and idiotic was fun, but now its just loaded with stupidity and conspiracy crackpots.

Less than two weeks till Phil Hendrie, at least I can put him on my Ipod and listen when I want too.

KFYI is unlistenable now, except for Limbaugh. Jacobs needs to go back to sports fulltime. The Nearly Young Barry Famous has been phoning it in for years; he sounds as tired as Bob Mohan did during his last years there and later on KFNX. If I'd known that J.D. Blowhard would end up doing PM drive on KFYI, I would have voted to keep him in Congress. I could take or leave Crummy, but he certainly was better than Hayworth.

KFYI is as ridiculous as KTAR-FM is boring. I don't have a problem with conservative-leaning hosts any more than I have one with the liberal-leaners on KPHX and NPR, so long as they're both entertaining and informative while giving their opinions (Limbaugh still is, although his best days are behind him as well). I have a problem with obnoxious and stupid, which is what KFYI has become in the last couple of years. Why the local hosts on 550 need to lower themselves to the level of Michael Savage (or Randi Rhodes on the liberal side) I have no idea, unless they're pandering to folks with an IQ lower than their shoe size.

Getting rid of Joe Crummey was idiotic. There is one good thing about J.D.'s show-Blow Out the Phones-it's great to hear the old regulars, funny as ever. Savage is better than WOH's-at least the lady hosts. Punnett is good on Coast to Coast. Whether goofy or edgy, it's ALL still better than KTAR.
