A Curious Statistic?

Re: A Curious Statistic Needs Your Help?

Without providing additional information that's kind of a boring question so I know why nobody responded.

I am doing some research for a developing project. I am trying to collect data about unsolicited CD submissions, specifically how many you get, who is sending them and what happens to them. I am happy to share the results when the survey ends on 12/12/08. I can accept an unlimited number of responses but only one response per computer and no IP Address information is stored for this survey. I will post the results on this post with the subject line "Survey Results".

There are only six questions to answer by clicking on buttons and you can comment if needed.

How many unsolicited CDs are sent to your radio station each week and what do you do with them?

A couple of things...

In reality, all CDs are unsolicited. Mostly they are single cut promo CDs, often on Cd-R's in advance of release. Most of us don't pay attentiion to the label, and there is no brick wall between major labels and indies... often what seems to be an indie is just a new imprint from a major. Most of us do not get much from the artists themselves, just the labels. The usual thing we do with promo CDs, after they have sat around a few months and we know they have stiffed is to give them away at remotes and stuff. Often, we get serviced many times on the same song... the more copies you get, the more you know it is a stiff.

The results were meger with only 5 people responding but here are the results as promise:
