A Few Houston Radio Notes

I checked some of the stations during the 3 AM hour after daylights savings for the RDS clock time. These were the stations I was able to get clock time without HD coming in which is hard to do.

The stations that were correct are 94.5, 96.1 KCDF, and 107.3 KCVE.

These were an hour behind 93.7, 99.1, & 100.3.

104.9 was behind by 2 minutes and 93.3 is still messed up being an hour and 11 minutes behind.

I just tried using 94.5 to set my other radio and it’s 5 hours ahead! 93.7 and 99.1 are correct now

It seems like ESPN 92.5 has changed to Spanish Christian. I did not hear any branding in between songs and I’m not getting RDS (ESPN never had it). I didn’t hear it on FM. It’s not La Nueva, La Mejor or Radio Aleluya. I’ll check out the TOTH ID

I unfortunately listened to it for an hour and did not hear any branding or legal ID. Just music. It reminds me of 105.3 before they were Power.

Strange. 12:28 mid song it went silent and I heard what sounded like an IP address and it was silent until 12:37 and ESPN came back.

That tells me the translator is being fed by a barix box.. you probably heard "101 dot 56 dot 25 dot 145" or whatever their iP address is that the box is connected to.. not the IP is recieving from. It will spit that IP address out upon powering up.

That’s exactly what I heard.

WHICH.. if it was broadcasting KFNC HD2, would still be legal, i think.. loosely.

When i was at a 3 station cluster, we had an AM with super translator.. the translator was 2 blocks from the studio, the am was 7-8 miles away.. the translator was technically fed first

I posted about this on the Cox thread, but fits in good here too. La Nueva Dallas is no longer here in Houston on KHPT HD3 or on the 101.7 Translator either, now it’s GENESIS 101.7 FM.

I don't have my radios with me right now (I'm in a college dorm and they're at home). Is that a Christian format or something else?

Sounds like Spanish Christian to me. I did hear what sounded like a pastor earlier. And if your vehicle has HD you should be able to get KHPT HD there.

It does...but I don’t drive. It’s not my car. It’s my parents’. 😕

Shoutout to the KNTH translator. The RDS is no longer weak.

Not very important, or not even important at all. But KHPT HD3 has changed again, it is no longer Genesis 101.7.

Now it’s identifying itself as CONEXIÓN 101.7.

I'm really glad someone is able to keep up with these changes. It's hard for me because it sounds the same and they don't have any text.

Well there hasn’t been much difference on these 3. LA NUEVA, Genesis and Conexión have the same format. I don’t see the same persons running all 3.

K269GT was off the air at around 6 pm. I was able to pick up KNTE very good and clear around 1960 and 45 north area.
