KOHV (been off at least for years)
I have never heard KOHV on the air or any evidence of it clashing with K258BZ whenever in the supposed KOHV coverage area.
In the past I have been able to hear this station along Highway 290 between the Antoine and Gessner intersections, with the peak signal around Bingle. Also a spotty signal along I-10 near Memorial City Mall. However it is buried under KVST more than a couple of miles from its transmitter. Still on AFAIK.
Never have heard it in the air when in that area.
Has Chinese language programming, as it is operated by New Tang Dynasty, otherwise known as the Falun Gong, an anti-communist group. Has been on in the past as heard along I-10 between Beltway 8 and Highway 6. Not checked recently.
These LPFMs were dead air. KJJG
KJJG actually gets out fairly well if K223CX happens to be off, but I haven’t come across it in several years. Pretty much obliterated by the translator in its supposed coverage area.
KHSX used to make it near downtown but not checked lately.
100.7 K264CN / 97.3 K247CX
This translator is trying to move to 97.3 but Gow Media has filed objections due to interference potential with KFNC. Apparently the 100.7 signal has been off for a few months.
I have never heard this on the air on either frequency.
96.1 K241CO seems to be greatly underpowered.
They appear to be running far less than their authorized 250 watts. Signal is highly directional to the WNW from its Jersey Village site. I can hear it at my house, but the farthest it seems to go is Barker-Cypress along 290 or Louetta on 249.
Radio Dabang 99.5 K258BZ is actually broadcasting from their licensed site.
Pretty decent signal for me in NW Harris County. No sign of KOVH as mentioned earlier.
K269GT Conexión 101.7 seems to have 2 towers broadcasting at the same time. So the original 250 watt license is on at that location with no RDS and the 2nd one seems to be somewhere just west of Houston with RDS. If it is downtown, the directional pattern is not facing north.
I‘ve never figured out where this is actually coming from, as the areas where the signal is best don’t seem to correspond with the supposed transmitter location(s). Have heard a pretty solid signal around Memorial City mall in the past, but inconsistent in NW Harris County.
Don't know when this happened but we got a new format coming from 102.5 K273DO. "Radio Zindagi 102.5 FM" and they are originating programming (big surprise). They legal ID as just the translator like Radio Dabang does.
News to me. Was Spanish language the last time I checked around First Colony Mall. Elsewhere I hear the La Mejor multicast, particularly on KJFI.
Those poor 92.5 and 94.1 LPFMs can't even go a mile without being interfered with from the downtown translators.
Nope, similar to the limited KOYM signal, though of course KVST is fully legal AFAIK.
I forgot to check KIRP-LP.
I have heard Spanish on 96.1 recently when in the SW part of the metro, presuming it was KIRP, but didn’t stick around for a positive ID.
I did not check KHEA-LP, KLHG-LP, or KZCV-LP. Eventually I'll check those lower powered stations in the Liberty area as well.
I’ll throw KTTF into the mix, which is audible in much of NW Harris County. KRUT is still on last I checked, but severely limited by K235CS, which has yet to move to 95.3.
