A Few Local Channels Off the Air

This morning sometime between 10:30 and 11:30, channel 7, NJN, 9, 11, PAX/I, and a few other local channels were off the air for a while. Fox 5 was off for a just a few minutes, but Channel 2 and Channel 4 stayed on the air. Does anyone know what happend? Maybe it was just my cable service, but I doubt that because the regular cable channels were still on.
______________

Sounds like a cable-company problem. Most of the
stations you mention are in New York, but NJN is
not...so it's unlikely that there was a problem
common to the TV stations. More likely someone
tripped over a wire at the local cable company.

> Channels 7,9,11 and 13 share a common antenna at the Empire State Building. A problem in the diplexer can effect them together. They may have been working on the antenna. Channels 4 and 5 are also diplexed into an antenna at the very top of the Empire mast. You may have noticed better siganl quality from channels 4 thru 13 lately due to the improvements in the antenna system
Channel 9 also dropped off the air for awhile last night while there appeared to be a pulsing kind of distortion in channel 11.

Interesting. Going off topic, Channel 2 (WCBS) is more fuzzy or staticy than the others. Any reason for that?
______________
