It would be great if Outlaw Dave would answer a few questions either here or on his website or somewhere.
As you can see, I don't work for the Chronicle. 8)
Outlaw Dave,
*Why are you no longer at KIOL?
*Will you return to the Houston airwaves?
*Would you consider another time slot or format?
*Do you think Rock is dead?
*Who do you think has the best morning show in Houston?
*Do you agree with the political statements of the Walton and Johnson show?
*Do you think that w&j are an asset to KIOL?
*Would you describe the KIOL morning show as "team players" who work well with other dayparts and departments?
*Do you think a market the size of Houston should have a morning show that has to divert attention away from Houston to pretend like they are local in Baton Rouge, La or Biloxi, Ms?
*Do you think the fact that w&j have to divert time and resources to servicing stations out of state, not even owned by Cumulus is a factor in Walton and Johnson's low ratings at KLOL and then KIOL?
*Can W&j's lack of success in Houston only be attributed to signal problems?
*Do you consider Stevens and Pruett or Walton and Johnson the Radio Gawds? Who was better?
*What is the ideal relationship that an afternoon drive talent should have with a morning show at the same station?
*Do you think that corporations such as Clear Channel and Cumulus prefer on-air talent with conservative values? Do they cater to the more evangelical wing in each community regardless of local community standards, such as in more liberal cities?
*Do they prefer on-air that does not smoke marijuana or advocate its' legalization or decrimilization?
*Do radio companies have an agenda or direction that they are trying to steer the music?
*How do you feel about the decisions made about music in Houston radio the past few years? What about morning shows?
*How do you feel about media consolidation the past ten years?
How has radio changed the last few years? Was radio better before 1996?
*What is your ultimate playlist? Who would be your core artists?
*Do companies like Clear Channel and Cumulus restrict more music than even small town stations in years past?
As you can see, I don't work for the Chronicle. 8)
