A few UNIDs tonight 3/19/2010

Here's my UNID stations for March 19th, 2010.

670: Something under KBOI that sounded like a regular talk show. Didn't hear anything about sports. KLTT-CO?
680: Very, very faint music under KNBR, not sure of any ideas. STUMPER for me!
710: That SS station again, very faint music. Could not ID if it was Cuba or YVKY Caracas.
770: Someone with the Lady Antebellum country song "Need You Know". I know it has gotten on to Hot AC radio in the past few weeks. KATL-MT?
820: And possibly two stations under KGNW. I know WBAP (relog) is one, but how about the other. Did not wait around for an ID, was busy with 670 and 710.

Hmmm... the 670 could be KMZQ in Las Vegas. The 680 could be WDBC Escanaba, MI (on upper peninsula), if the music is adult standards. I'm pretty sure the 770 is KATL in Miles City, MT. The 710 could be Cuba but I'm not sure. Hope this helps. I don't know about the unidentified 820.

KMZQ-NV has only 600w nights., KLTT has 1400 watts, so it could be the latter.

Your 770 was most likely CHR Top 40 station Los 40 Principles from Mexico Ive heard it hear in Indiana by nulling out WABC NYC,, so if your in Washington this should be a very possible catch with some patients. http://www.los40.com.mx/sintonizanos_mxaspx If this link works use the stream to verify next time you catch it...

There may now be no 40 Principales on 770 in Mexico; the Los Mochis station may have changed format. In any case, Mochis is on the Pacific side of Mexico, and the station is 100 watts at night. In fact, there is nothing over 1 kw at night on 770 anywhere in Mexico, and the two strongest are Radio Formula stations which are all talk.

40 Principales stations are about 65% Spanish language music, the rest English language pop... all announcing is in Spanish. I question whether they would play Lady Antebellum anyway, as the songs are decidedly country, a genre that does not have appeal in Latin America.

I was thinking that if the "regular talk show" was being heard on 670 then the station must be KMZQ, but if it's religious or sort of religious then it would have to be KLTT. However, I still think the 770 may be the MT station. If there was a top 40 staiton in Mexico, then I doubt it would play anything from Lady Antebellum.

Keep in mind that "Top 40" can be done in any language... Latin American Top 40 Stations may or may not play some songs in English, but they mostly play the Top 40 songs in the local language. French Top 40 stations play hits in French, of course...
