A fly in the dip? Adobe 5.5 and HUI

Hmmmm..does Adobe Audition CS 5.5 NOT support use of an external controller? previous versions of AA did indeed support a Cooper CS-10 or similar MotorMix and the Mackie Controller Universal.

I see nowhere in "preferences" or "setup" to configure or otherwise tell the program that I would like to have transport..track arming.. fader control etc..from an external controller.

Duh.....am I missing something?....or are THEY...?

This will be a major deal breaker for a lot of people.

Back in December I was running the Mac Beta Version of the program and checking in on their comment boards. There were a lot of users who used both Windows and Mac machines to do production. It was numbing on how many comments were made about how a "new" version of a program could have so many features removed. I even asked about CD burning or ripping and their comment was that it wasn't worth writing new code for those features since so many users have other programs for those tasks.

After beta using the program for about 60 days, I decided to not become a Mac user of their product. My employer also decided to not upgrade his Windows machines sticking with previous versions.

Well here's another one..Jeesh this thing is full of holes.

In multitrack mode..generally one can record vocals, and put effects on another track, and a music track on another and so on right? With AA3.0 you can do without a midi controller and go to the "mixer" window..and choose "write" to instruct the faders where to fade etc. When done it reverts to "read" and will automatically move the faders to create the mix.

IN THIS CS5.5...THEY ELIMINATED THAT FEATURE, so NO automated level control with the faders in the traditional sense. I have read that there is a "way" to somehow make an automated mix, but it takes several layers of effort..Once again a step backwards.

So far..no tone generator. No ability to use external controllers. And now NO auto fader feature.

What is the dealio with Adobe here? This thing just leaks oil!

Glad I have AA3.01 all over the place. Getting less impressed each day.
