I'm just like all you poor fools on this board that still care. I'm a little sad that I never get mentioned as one of Houston's great jocks. Because I was in the nineties before the new ownership laws kicked in. I had a great run of it for about seven years middays on 93 Q country. I had bits and characters and lots of phoners. It was my dream job. I felt like I made a difference everyday. And almost everyday I got called on the carpet and told to shut up. But my ratings were double digits most trends and I knew that all the personality things that I was doing every day was the reason. Finally in 99 we were sold to CC. My salary was way too high for a midday girl and I was gone. Six months later KKBQ was sold to Cox. I had to hire a lawyer to keep my name and go on KIKK fm. We went alt country six months before I was let go from that one. Then I got on at The Arrow, overnights. I voicetracked 60 hrs a week for not more than 29.5 hours a week. My husband started a mobile tool business and we maintained our lifestyle (kept our house) in Sugarland for 4 more years while our sons finished high school. Then we finally stopped the madness, sold our home and bought two acres of land here in Northern New Mexico. I stare at the Sangre de Christo Mountains everyday now. I do a sat morning roots country show (streaming on ktao.com.) I am working on a 24/7 internet broadcast on harleycolt.com and I hope to have that up and running in the next month or two. My goal is to bring back the entertainment value I had there in Houston on 93 Q. I have created a new future for myself, but I still grieve over Houston radio. I love all you people who care and continue to post here. God Bless You! Harley
