I was browsing this particular board for Baton Rouge music and stumbled upon it.

They love liberal talk and the recent tweaks at 104 the X. For some reason, they still hate how Darren Gauthier programmed KLSU in the early-to-mid 90's (even though that was the only time in recent years KLSU was worth listening to). KLSU SUCKS.

That... could be a bad thing if people think like this if they had an Arb book. That's why I suggested moving the New Orleans Diva to 106.1 or 106.7, so the BR people don't get 103.3 confused with 92.3.

And Stelly suggested an idea: how about moving the End's format to 92.3, rename it Voodoo 92.3, and relaunch it around Voodoofest weekend? Sounds cool. It'll never happen, though.<P ID="signature">______________

KLSU SUCKS? When did that happen? I'm pretty sure they would disagree with this oppinion. Going by your many years in the industry, what would you rather see them do to improve their current product? How long have you been in radio anyway?

I absolutely agree that KLSU was best then, especially when it was the only alternative station in town for a while. I do take exception with their Hootie comment though. Hootie broke through because of college radio. You can't tell people things though.<P ID="signature">______________

As someone who used to work at KLSU, I can say that while they do not "suck", the on-air execution could be a lot better. But BT's never liked KLSU, or at least has kept that opinion in his years on this board.

as a complete outsider to klsu. i have nver wored there. i have never been to school at lsu...but i can pick up 91.1..it sucks!! where is the rusty cage? why do they waste money on that thing. there use to be stickers at the record store near lsu that said..klsu sucks!! most people i know that go to lsu say the same thing. kbrh am 1260 is a musically good station but has no djs.but its student run like klsu...why cant 91.1 play something worth something? in the mid 90s it was mainstream alternative. now its just alternative. now tell me the truth would you listen to 104.9 or 91.1...i thought so!<P ID="signature">______________

Last time I had heard it, it was playing some "world" music, and I didn't give two thoughts about it...Checking out the website, Music in rotation seems to be college level alt rock (I only recognize about 5 artists however from mainstream alt.rock and one country?!?).
But on air execution will "suck" cause they are not polished card readers like we are used to.. a lot of college stations are like that, if they ain't getting fed off a bird like LSUA and UNO...

BTW Smashed, got one for you to try..according to the KLSU site, new and classic country 10-12 on saturdays...
