I miss those hot carolina days with those cool carolina evenings... With my Yagi and very high HAAT during the summer I could work stations from WVA down to the FLA... Even though most of my listening is now to Sirius when I am in the car I will still check out the FM band up here in northern IL and when we have some good storms I can grab stations from IA, WI, MO, and MI... It is just too bad I don't have the set up here like I had in SC... My neighbors would really love me... There may be a nice 50 foot tower coming my way in the future so if that happens I will start with a few HF antennas some VHF and UHF for 2 meters and 440 and will have my trusty 4 element yagi ready to go so that I can get back to the business at hand... Have fun and remember we are just a few weeks away from the fun time of the year when Sporadic E ducting kicks in... CC1
There was some minor ducting this morning. From Myrtle Beach, I was hearing Raleigh to the north and Savannah to the south. Nothing special, but it was nice.
It was a good (or bad) night depending on your point of view. In Columbia, we were getting clobbered by WWKT/WBT last night. However, I didn't feel so bad because 93.5 and 94.3 were having the same troubles!
Here 20 miles south of Columbia in Pelion, things were pretty good! The usuals plus a little more that don't USUALLY come in.
last night
92.5 B92-Charleston -a normal DX
94.1 The Beat-Sav -normal
94.3-Charleston-completely mutilated WWNQ's signal and picked up like a local for hours.
96.1-Charleston (knocking out adjacent 96.3 Augusta with signal bleed)
96.5-Sav usually a good catch, but completely knocked out 96-7 Steve-FM with signal bleed
98.1-Charleston, usually an ok catch
98.9-Charleson, crystal clear with signal bleed over to 99.1
99.3-Charlotte-always a good catch but was weird considering most signals coming in from the south
99.5-Myrtle Beach-hardly a good catch, but completely knocked out nearby Kicks in aug. with a good signal.
99.7-Charleston, a nice catch, crisp crystal clear sound
100.5-Charleston, never ever usually get this due to WSSL's strong signal
101.7-myrtle beach
102.1-savannah
104.5-charleston bleeding over 104.3 WBBQ
105.3-sav
107.3-jacksonville fl
