A High Pressure Front and Legs In The Forecast

Is it just me or have all the bay area TV stations now have young women doing the weather? (KRON and KNTV)
I guess the further "south" you are in the ratings the more the spot light is on the ever famous weather girl.

KNTV (NBC bay area) shows more of Chritina Loren' butt and legs then they show of the weather map. Somebody sure has a crush on her and I don't think it's the viewers.

My wife noticed this morning that now Laura Garcia-Cannon is in for compitition with Christina complete with the leg show.

I just love the way Christina talks to us like were listening to a Amway sales pitch.

I believe the viewers have a crush on her.

KRON has really stepped the eye candy. Darya Folsom! The Weather Girls, and it's not raining men. Maybe raining men as viewers.

I've noticed that local stations have returned to the day of the foxy weather "girl." If you recall, these were the first on-set jobs that they allowed women to take on in TV news - as far back as the late 60s. I recall Kelly Lange on KNBC, who later became a general assignment reporter and anchor, and is even a published author.

Of course, the TV stations are far too 'PC' to actually admit that in their advertising. I've seen a number of billboards adorned with Christina Loren's pretty face, and I haven't seen any with Rog Mathai or Jessica Aguirre. KNTV is otherwise keeping it low key. I think they figure that her appearance will attract viewers, and they don't have to be heavy handed about it.

KTTV, KTLA, KCBS, KCAL and KNBC tend to sell the legs factor more in these areas KABC is a exception where Dallas Raines rule the weather on 7 there. but in SF not so much like KTVU and KGO they tend to focus on veteran weather people like Bill Martin and Spencer Christian. Ironically when Spencer was at WABC, Karna Small sold the legs factor on KGO right when Grimsby left KGO for WABC

KTVU looks like they sweetened up their weekend/fill in weather with some eye candy themselves. Can't remember her name, but she is Hispanic and caliente!!

Dont forget about Chrissy Rouso and Aloha Taylor over at Fox 5 San Diego.

I think we came full circle -- remember when some stations employed "weather girls" to do the forecast? They were discarded in the 1970s when stations started to be more serious and informative about their forecasts. It now seems that they're returning to the style over substance approach.

Remember guys San Francisco tended to sell better with the Traffic Girl in the Morning newscasts except for KTVU like Liza Battelones on KPIX, Frances Dinglasan of KGO, Christine Nubla of KRON and KNTV, and Malou Nubla of KRON, KPIX (Eye on the Bay host) and KTVU (Malou Show).
