A INTERNET RADIO STATION 4 U

Hey radio brothers and sisters, I used2bsomebody in this crazy business and I LOVE RADIO. Radio has been very very good to me. Now I want to give back. I've purchased a internet radio station to play with and want it to be more than just a "radio station". I'm wanna play classic airchecks of the radio legends, have a blog for jocks, give jocks a chance to post airchecks, resumes, etc. Any ideas? I want this to be our staion. What can we do to make it work? What can we do with it? Any ideas, I'd love to hear from you.

I'd like to hear a show that features nothing but new talent. Beginners, then 1-2 years, then 2-3. They cold post an audio resume with samples of their work, and contact inormation if they are looking for the next big gig.

Or, we could do a show that actually critiques the persons' submissions LIVE. Assemble a panel, get different viewpoints, etc. That would be cool.

How about a segement that fetures established jocks when they were younger? I think that might inspire more young jocks they can get better than anything else.

For the sake of humor (and all radio needs a little), how about some method of airing bloopers of established jocks, if any are brave enough to submit them. This may show the young DJs that even the pros with long careers are subject to the occasional (or sometimes not so occasional and rather often) slip-up. ;)

Some great ideas so far. Keep it up. When we get this baby up and running I would like for everyone who has some classic airchecks to submit them to me and the idea of new jocks, resumes, contact info etc is great. Bloopers would be great too. I remember my very first on air blopper when I ws doing the weather forecast and it had been raining for days so I was gonna close by saying "I don't know whether its still raining or not but I'll go take a look out the studio window and see." Well my mind couldn't decide if I wanted to say "look out the window" or "peek out the window", so I said, "I'm gonna go take a leak out the window." Bloopers might be hard to get becuase I didn't save that one and I have a feeling most don't save their mistakes.

I never saved my mistakes, but Lordy, did I make a few (hundred) in my day. I'm lucky that a couple of them didn't get me fired. (One time, in particular, "pitching stance" during a broadcast of a Midwestern high school baseball game came out to sound a little more like a bathroom activity, if you catch my drift.) ;) Thankfully, the broadcast was aired on tape, the next day, so I had time to edit it. The listeners never knew, but I surely did and cringed, even hearing the edited playback.

I know bloopers would likely be difficult to gather, but if anyone would be willing to "man up" and share them, even if they just offered the stories to prove that everyone is human, regardless of experience, how classic would it be?

I listened to the Wolfman Jack show via XM, last night. Vintage airchecks from back in the day would be awesome. I bought an old Harry Harrison aircheck from 1968 on eBay, last year, and that has been a 75 minute sweet trip down memory lane I listen to, quite often.

This sounds like a very fun station. Please keep us posted on when you launch the site
