Saw this on ALL ACCESS:

"MORRIS Classic Rock KDUX/ABERDEEN announces the departure of radio renaissance man DAVE AVALON as he exits the "PA & DAVE" morning show as well as his posts as Production Director and Technology Manager. DAVE is off to pursue a new opportunity at Safeharbor.com but will remain a contracted computer engineer and webmaster from home. He will also be making himself available for similar work on a consultancy basis."

Yet another radio guy who figured out that you can do more outside of the business than in it.

Safe Harbor is located at the Satsop Development Park. Also located there is Techtell. Both companies offer high-tech opportunities beyond what broadcasting has to offer.

Satsop is a one-of-a-kind, with triple redundant fiber-optics. And Grays Harbor County is still a relatively low-cost area to live.

As far as KDUX is concerned, remember that this is a station that is technically still in the running to move out of Grays Harbor to the Seattle market (that's the 104.5 rulemaking, folks). On the other hand, their rulemaking petition is smoke and mirrors, and is not likely to prevail.

PA and Dave will probably become PA and Kyle, or whatever intern moves up to the sidekick seat.

Dave is a talented computer expert and Safe Harbor is fortunate to have acquired him.
