A little bird told me.....

Someone in another PA market tells me he heard that Shamrock is selling/has sold 92.1 QFM. Anybody hear the same??? IF so, to whom?

I haven't heard that from anyone who works there. Doubtful.

That could explain why Shamrock has not hired a PD yet. Or for that matter, done much with the station at all. From what I understand, Chris Barnes had already worked on the air at Rock 107 so he is not a new hire for Shamrock. If they are/have sold WQFM then it would make sense why they haven't put any money into marketing it or in hiring any NEW employees. Or have they? Anyone know? The web site for Q92.1 doesn't even look like it's for a radio station.

That station is part of the group. I don't think they'd break up the set. They only have a few stations so why sell that one? It doesn't make sense to me. And the reason why I think they aren't promoting or hiring is to see if it will bill as much or more with the new format than Oldies. A GM there once told me the Lynetts want to see if a place is going to be viable first after they buy it, then as a reward, build upon that success. I think they're just waiting to see how it bills before they do anything major with it. They had Oldies from Labor Day 1996 to late 2005. The format change was a departure from the stability it had for so long. Can't see them selling it.
