A little less CanCon on CBC

CBC Television has replaced Just for Laughs Gags at 5:30 PM weekdays with an American program - Frasier. This is the first time in a few years that The Simpsons have been followed by another American program. I would bet this was done to create a more solid lead-in to their new 6 PM local newscasts.

Frasier now will be largely associated with CBC in Canada, since a lot of non-O&O CBC affiliates already show Frasier.

The 5:30-6:00 time slot will also be added to the list of deviations from the network schedule on CBET Windsor. Lately they have been showing Ready or Not at 5:00, and they are showing an Australian program at 5:30.
______________

I find it very strange. CBC WAS on a mission to eventually become 100 percent Canadian, or close to that...what went wrong?
______________
