A lump of coal

Christmas is coming and could CC be getting ready to “break” the old 96Rock in to little pieces? I was just wondering because if I remember correctly they turned off the Lite 94.9 during the Holidays. They have already taken the first step with rebranding to Project 9 6 1, just like they went from Peach to Lite. I saw the ratings on this site and the AJC: http://blogs.ajc.com/radio-tv-talk/...ron-ratings-winners-b98-5-kicks-bull-wras-fm/ and it looks like a downward trend. Could CC give Atlanta and the air staff a lump of coal this Christmas?

I would be surprised. I think they still want a rock presence in this market although going after B98.5 is very tempting. They are 10th 18-34 which is what they are trying to appeal to. If they have been planning on blowing it up they probably would have blown out the entire morning show and not just Giant Brian, Little Brain.

Atlanta has been encoding with PPM for, what, one, two years now?

PPM is said to be rock-friendly (though recently I would argue it's more of a boon to CHR stations). And the best CC can do with 96.1 is 10th place? Mind you, this is without the Braves.

Safe to say rock might roll over on 96.1 within a year...
