Monterey-Salinas-Santa Cruz just got a CHR station:

Z97-9 The #1 Hit Music Station

They sound better than the others that have tried CHR or Rhythmic in the last five years.

I read that the station went silent and will be CHR-Rhythmic.

I think SF's only hope may be Bonneville selling 95.7 and the buyer making it CHR.
