A New England State of Trance...

Last week I unexpectedly had a limo run from Princeton to three spots outside of Boston. After making the 7-hour trip, I was starting for home when I heard several stations playing some great Saturday night dance stuff:

1) Mix 98.5 in Boston has a very good Saturday night dance show. The kicker? I was in Providence when I heard Double You's 'Run To Me' for the first time in ages! It reminded me of the days of listening to Star 93.7 online some years ago.

2) WFHN (Fun 107) had a pretty nice mixshow, but only got to catch the end of it.

3) WLIR (107.1) also had a tremendous trance show, and it ended with a great trance remix of the Eurythmics' 'Here Comes The Rain Again.' Any idea whom the new version is by?

4) Party 105 (WDRE) also had a good show; albeit a true 'live' show...unlike the mainstream corporate garbage my area always gets.

And finally (yet most surprising)...

5) WKSS (Kiss 95.7 in Hartford) had an incredible trance show called 'BUZZ', which airs from 1-3am very early Sunday morning after all the Saturday night stuff ends.

I got home at 5am, and was wired until 3am hearing all of this good stuff!

You know something Philly & New York City? You really should be ashamed not having real dance stuff on Saturday nights. :'(

For all the rocks and flatland out there, it's worth coming through Connecticut!! ;D

that mix show is produced from the XMIX Remix service. I happen to be one of the mixers for the show. They have been running that dance show for years and still gets great numbers book after book..

Actually, it depends on the night at WFHN (Fun 107). Some of the mixes have been produced by me under the RadioMixes Dance banner for the past three years!

Hey Joe. When were your dance mixes airing on Fun?

oh, and thanks for the luv Jay. It's very encouraging to know that there are still terrestrial stations out there looking to keep their weekends upbeat with dance music!

Um why dont you try 88.9 in Philly and South Jersey. You wanted hot dance music how bout Tiesto, Tsettos and Rizzo on Sat night starting at 2am. Then Johnny Budz on Friday nights with Dom Armano, Mr Allnighter and The Riddler on Sundays

I listen virtually every day, but did not know they had weekend overnight dance stuff. My bad there. Apparently my 'pulse' is a little eratic.
