A New Morning Show

WENZ, 107.9 FM is set to debut its new morning show starring self-proclaimed clean comedian Ricky Smiley. You can read about him by going to their website, Zhiphopcleveland.com . Once there, you can search by DJ's or shows and read about him. It's also interesting to note that once you open "read more", you'll see that he's on a page that has "Russ Parr" as part of its address. Russ Parr is the outgoing morning drive show.
Anybody know why Smiley is taking over for Parr? Is this happening at other Radio One stations?
 
Alot of Stations took off Russ Parr for Ricky Smiley . Look like Radio One is shutting down Russ Parr Morning show for Ricky Smiley .

Some stations, like WQOK in Raleigh, still air Russ Parr; haven't heard anything on the whole show shutting down...
 
Russ Parr will probably still be on his Washington, DC flagship, WKYS-FM. If only that.

Oddly enough, their sister station in DC, WMMJ "Majic" (no relation to WMJI) fired all of their local deejays last week. Including Parr's former co-host, Olyvia Fox. (Tom Joyner was the only show retained.) PPM readings apparently showed - to Radio One, at least - that when the DJ banter was cut back, WMMJ's ratings went up. So the entire airstaff was shown the door (with an apparent new lineup still to be assembled).

A sign of things to come for the venerable WZAK, perhaps?
